How do you figure that? The last we saw of him, he was heading off on a random bus with Mrs. Carl Smith. No plans, no goals. (And certainly no help from either set of parents is likely.)
One of the reasons no sequel to “The Graduate” was ever made (“The Post-Graduate”?) is because Charles Webb, who wrote the book (and holds the sequel rights), evisioned Ben and Elaine continuing to live an anti-Establishment life, off in a trailer or commune somewhere, doing odd jobs and/or living off the land. (Webb himself became a practicing nudist.)

Benjamin didn’t know anything about plastics, either. That’s why the friend recommended that avenue. But Ben seemed to do OK anyway.
