Professional Sports – be it baseball or bike racing – attracts the Begrudgers. Certain fans and sportswriters, let alone other players, can’t stand the idea that someone is a better or more gifted athlete then themselves. Sportswriters ( see ESPN ) are masters in the Art of Begrudgery !
There was a time when a sport’s writer were craftsmen, and their prose were their calling cards.Today, sports writers seem to be just small men who want to mitigate their jock-sniffing existance by trying to “clean up the game.”Sports writers should be taken of all HOF voting.
