I, too, instantly started singing Johnny Cash in my head. Also, from what I hear, the rings are difficult and painful enough on their own…
I’ve heard that Johnny wrote it but gave June the credit for it. (He without any doubt whatsoever gets the credit for the final product since the horns were all his own idea.)
not to mention the incredible voice. regardless of who wrote it, i don’t think it could have been a hit record without that incredible voice.
