Please, let’s not give any ideas to the lame brains that ru(i)n the NHL. Having watched the game since the early 60’s as in EARLY 60’s today’s goalie has become much more athletic than in previous years. Bigger as well. reduce the size of he pads and especially the glove size. Shrink the width of the pad by 2" or so and cut the size of the glove in half.
The first day of summer is Friday and we’re still watching hockey. I realize the first half of the season was ruined by the lockout, but it’s hard to get excited about the Stanley Cup when we’re getting the kids ready for baseball camp.

No matter how big the goalie is or how large his gloves and pads are, he still has to stop the puck !
