Not a fan of Denver due to many rivalry games with Raiders and Seahawks over the years BUT I would not have minded seeing Peyton ride off into the sunset with one more SB – so hard to get there, it won’t happen more than likely.
At least the officials didn’t influence the game. Don’t put this all on Peyton though, your offensive line has to protect the QB or the ball gets batted out of his hand for a fumble or a pass tipped for an interception, etc. The Broncos defense didn’t show up last night either and the Seahawks outplayed them on both offense and defense. Peyton is still one of the best right behind Joe Montana and a couple of others, in the top five.
Peyton says he wants to come back, so the final chapter isn’t written yet. He didn’t have his best game, for sure, but his teammates did little to help. Seattle’s defense IS that good, and their offense didn’t have to be great to do reasonably well against a mediocre Denver defense.
I kept chuckling when some in the media were whining (I know, media people whining) about the possibility of cold weather for the Super Bowl and how wrong it is, etc, etc, etc. Chuckle because these same august media people get all weepy and wax nostalgic about the famed “Ice Bowl” in Green Bay.
I was expecting a much tighter game with the outcome up for grabs. Very happy for our sister city Seattle. Seahawks did well. .Seahawks didn’t care what the weather – Pacific Northwest? They are used to playing in torrential rains and very cold weather. .Peyton played well – he threw, his receivers caught and then were soundly pounded into the ground or there were interceptions. … It was watching the receivers get pounded – and a few other Seattle moves…. amazed.

And watching a losing QB having a grand clong is great reality TV.

As a Bronco fan I have to give Seattle credit. Manning looked lost out there.
