Population of Las Vegas, 603,448 (2013), can you say “Small Market Team”?

And in regards to the NFL, if one spends the weekend in Las Vegas, will be be, um, sober enough to participate in a football game by Sunday? I mean, the Ultimate Tailgate Party could put you out of commission before the game even starts.

Isn’t one of the big questions about the NFL how many fans will come from other cities for a game? Or will the locals be the main support for the team? Las Vegas and surroundings has over 2,000,000 people. Tune in around 2020.

The Kansas City metro area has over 2 million people and we’re considered “small market”. Besides, football has actually been the national pastime for a few decades now. Compare “Sunday Night Football” ratings (before last season’s outlier, I mean) with playoff and even World Series ratings.
