    The Brits have nothing against specificity; they simply feel that they’re the default, and the OTHER tournaments require specificity.

    They also have, the Football Association, Automobile Association & the Royal Society, society of what? There are certainly dozens more, so Tank is absolutely correct!

    America is no better. People are always talking about “The US Open” and they never say which one they’re talking about. Chess? Golf? Tiddlewinks? Tennis? Why don’t you just guess?
