A suggestion: If the campus isn’t open for students, then the athletic facilities aren’t open for athletes, and, especially, there is no football or basketball season for alumni. AKA, if you can’t teach, you can’t entertain.
Intercollegiate athletics should be abolished. Put the time, money, facilities and talent into intramural programs and need-based scholarships that actually benefit the student body. Let pro sports pay for their own farm clubs.
