Darnold (13 INTs in 12 games) and Mayfield (13 INTs in 14 games) averaged about 1 INT/Game, about the same as: Stafford (17 in 17), Lawrence (17 in 17), Allen (15 in 17) , Hebert (15 in 17), Burrow (14 in 16), Jackson (13 in 12)… So I guess all the above should be worried about losing their starting jobs too.
Mayfield’s success will depend upon how he bounces back from his injury. Even playing with the injured shoulder, he was better than Darnold. However, neither will succeed when the O-line is like tissue paper.
Even the tight-fisted, short-sighted owners of the Bengals and Chargers, spent some bucks (for a change) on their O-lines to protect their star quarterbacks for the 2022 season.
As all football fans know, it’s not just interceptions that matter. How many pass completions/attempts, total yards, touchdowns, wins, etc have to enter into the conversation.
When I first saw Sam Darnold playing for USC, I thought he was fantastic. While he didn’t do well with the Jets, I think he still has the potential to be a great pro quarterback with the right coach and the right team. I’ll be rooting for him.

But more important, how will this affect At Home With Baker if he’s not home at Progressive Field?

I like the look in the second panel that makes it look like Baker is looking over Tank’s shoulder!

Settle it the old-fashioned way: oatmeal wrestling.
What? It’s no worse a predictor than anything else they could do in the preseason.
