Some of the time, they may need a test for maturity and stability. One of the potentially greatest kickers, Russell Erxleben, completely fell apart when he got the money and fame after being drafted and living in New Orleans. He was a great punter and placekicker. He could have saved a team a spot on the roster by not needing two kickers. And he was kicking 50 yard field goals way before it became sort of common these days. Too bad he couldn’t handle all that fame and fortune.

“I’m not really a FOOTball player?” Ironically, placekickers and punters are the only ones whose feet actually touch the ball in the game.

It’s great to see two pals have an adult conversation discussing sports commentary while their dogs run around.

Choke-ability should be given a name. How about Brett Maher syndrome.

George Blanda – Place kicker & QB. I’m sure he’d have been an interesting one to talk to.

A 35 yard field goal is like a 5 foot putt in terms of target width over distance.

David Akers of Philly Eagles—if the kick was under 35 yards, they’d skip the play and just give it to h im.
