I’ve no problem with the clock on the batter or the pitcher – especially the batters. Games do extend faaaaaaaaaar tooooooo loooooooong. I don’t enjoy a batter taking a minute to adjust every pad, cup, wristband, hat, shirt and pants, doing a few arm stretches and then knocking off the imaginary dirt from his cleats prior to stepping up to the plate after every pitch. If they can’t adjust then too bad. People just don’t want to see this.
Oh no! What will happen to all of the batter’s box superstitions!
Stepping out and resetting is one thing, but messing with your gloves when you didn’t swing, looking your bat over when all you did was waggle it a little, and the ever growing list of other ticks and habits strung together are just getting insane.
Have you seen the video of the comparison between 1 inning this spring season AND the 2 pitches from a game last season? 3 outs before 2 piches? Convinced me!

I can definitely imagine a player saying that. But it’s the necessary flip side of a pitch clock.

So definitely no more Mike Hargove-type batters (Hargrove had the nickname “The Human Rain Delay”)

I don’t see these new rules lasting very long.

Never thought I’d see the day when Tank would use profanity.

The pitch clock is the best thing MLB has ever done. Went to a spring training game and it was delightful

Gotta have more time for commercials.
Commercials are the national pastime, aren’t they?

Step back, take a breath, and get in the box, and hold the bat up. If it takes you more than 12 seconds to take a breath, you should find another job.
