In high school, they play four 8-minute quarters.

A friend of mine recently went to a Tampa Bay Lightning game and reported that the beers were about $15 or $16 a pop. Basically all major sports royally gouge the fans at the concession stands. The two exceptions I have heard of are The Masters (which costs a fortune to get in) where everything sold on the course is $5 or under including the beer and the Falcons in Atlanta as Art Blank decided that the Master’s concession approach was reasonable as the team is already making beaucoup coin on season tickets, parking, TV revenue, etc…… BTW, spring training ball is getting almost as bad at some of the parks for concessions and tickets but the prices do come down for the FSL A ball games in the summer.

“Geniuses at work”? Given the product they’ve come up with in the last few years, I would have to disagree with that statement!

Maybe they’d draw the crowds if they tried lowering some of the prices.

If arm surgery if named after Tommy John, which athlete should have brain surgery named after them?

There’s a lot to pay for – salaries, comfortable and large modern areans and so forth. College sports are going the same way with the NIL going on. I am not saying that we shouldn’t pay athletes, especially not the college players as they really reap the riches that the colleges garner, but this is what we pay for because this is what the fans want – winners. Nothing will happen until the fans get fed up with the cost and I haven’t seen a mass protest of any sort lately. Few empty seats at arenas and stadiums.

Oh come on. Everybody knows that what teams charge for beer is dictated by “Biden’s policies” and not by calculating whatever they think they can get away with.

Here’s an idea… cut the season by 10%. Next, cut the player’s salary by 10%. Then, cut the ticket prices and concessions by 10%. Ta-da! (James Harden’s salary would go from $33 million for six months “work”, down to $30 million. Perhaps we could start a GoFundMe for him, so he can financially survive)

Once inflation is over, does the price of anything go down?
