Exit velocity is overrated. Give me a guy that can simply put his bat on the ball and find holes in the defense. Those guys are often the toughest outs. Can you imagine judging Tony Gwynn or Pete Rose based on exit velocity?
MLB is working to statistically discover the period of time it takes them to discover a new statistic.
What’s the big deal about exit velocity??
Stat geeks have taken over. Exit velocity. Bat speed. Launch angle.
Here’s a stat for them, a number in the infield that leaves the bat at, say, 25 mph, counts just as much as a line drive single that travels at 80mph.
My biggest gripe about baseball is that the fundamentals have all but disappeared from the game. It’s all about being a J. Macho Studley at the plate.
Fiftieth anniversary of 10¢ beer night June 4, 1974. Cleveland vs Texas, 60,000 beers, riots and a Cleveland forfeit.
I don’t think that is the kind of exit velocity the manager was hoping for.
Today is National Egg day.
All the Big Leaguers should do nothing but bunt until the phrase “exit velocity” becomes obsolete
Looks like the Chicago White Sox are on a pace to set a record in exit velocity.
