I still say there is something human-like about this animal’s extremities. And in the first panel there appears to be a belt around its waist. Plus, its head looks almost like the creature in Alien.

Jambo, mates!The strip has now jumped back to the 1962 copyright from 1987 of a day, or two ago—I wonder what’s going on.I guess back in those days killing jungle creatures did not upset too many people since their numbers were “plentiful”, sadly not the case today with all of the poaching going on.Anyway, now comes the search for this slashed assassin’s tribe and hopefully the location of pilot Bilski who our hero will no doubt rescue (after some more action-packed killing, of course).
Wao! Unbelievable action! We follow the scene like we were there! I can almost hear the noises associated with this fight. Look how clever Celardo uses the zoom by making each panel a little smaller in the direction of reading. The effect is fantastic.
Has anyone ever tried to tally just how many animals, especially lions, panthers, leopards, etc, Tarzan has killed in the method shown in today’s strip???
Tarzan always hated the killing of animals for sport. He only killed then for food or self-defense. At least that’s the way Johnny Wismuller played him.

The “law of the jungle” seemed much more appropriate back in the 1960’s, when this strip is from.
