Somehow the last panel reminds me of Terry and the Pirates.

It looks as if a different artist has taken over. Or maybe just a different inker.

This is strip 2641 Tarzan and the Diamond of Astra from Dan Barry. There is mistake. It should have gone strip 8287 from John Celardo

They seem to have rolled us back to a much older story; this one is dated 1948, whereas I think we were in 1966 earlier…

Lot’s of detail in each panel and already a cast of characters and storyline is presented.

Let’s try this old storyline because the 1960’s series was getting boring and laughable. Already, it has drawn me in and I’m intrigued. It has to beat building a pygmy bridge. And actually, I thought the guy in the last panel looked like the evil guy in the Flash Gordon series.

Actually, I just noticed that they started the same exact threadline in the Spanish Tarzan strip. Before, the English strip was about three months ahead of the Spanish strip. Now they are running the same in both.

Is that, if Tarzan still lives or her brother still lives? From “Here, hold this vine” to foreign languages and a myriad of hard to remember names; I’m going to have to create a flow chart.

Well Phritzg – then June it is…as long as the story is interesting. Then again, maybe it is composed of several stories like Mr. Slam and the building of the pygmy bridge. Good catch on the text balloons too. I never caught that. That is interesting.

In 1948 I couldn’t get enough of Edgar Rice Burroughs! The 60’s strip was a liberal nightmare and poor artwork ( Definitely not up to Edgar Rice Burroughs standards). Looking forward to this change for the better. I still have over 60 Burroughs books in my library.

I wonder could they go back to the very begining with the strips from the 30’s? When Hal Foster did them.

Strange – this was supposed to be “The Captive Princess” … it reminds me a lot of “Tarzan And The Forbidden City”. You know, Helen Gregory looking for her missing brother with Atan Thome the bad guy.But now it seems to be called “The Diamond Of Ashair”?
