The text in the 3rd panel seems to show that ERB at least admired the animal. We can also say that no great cat died in the making of this story. However, it’s still sad.
Apparently Tarzan is not a fan of “Soft Kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur…” Perhaps he should make a guest appearance in the current (eight year old) storyline in “Get Fuzzy.”
