Tarzan doesn’t know how to hold the knife either.

Leaning that far back, unless for comic physics, he is going to fall on his back.

    Call the continuity control.

panels one and two, Cross has the knife in his right hand, panel three he is trying to slash left handed.

Much later in life, Tarzan, Lord of the jungle, has a son who marries an American actress. They both decide they want nothing more to do with Tarzan and his jungle and move to Canada. But that’s another story. Let’s get back to this one.

Not good fighting form; Crisscross went unbalanced- he’s opened up his back.

At this rate the knife fight could last through Valentine’s Day!

Whichever way you hold the knife, it’s a good idea to aim the pointy end at your opponent.

It’s hard to hit a vital part slashing down. You need to be driving upwards. Lots of good targets there. Just ask the Navy SEALS. And favm is right, you don’t win gripping the knife that way, (…unless you’re contemplating suicide.) Blame the artist, though, not ERB.

Let me guess. "then, cat like. Tarzan springs forth, sinking his knife deep into Cross’s heart. Cross never utters another word, except for a gurgling sound.
