Tarzan had hoped his mammoth entrance would be proof enough. But the locals, being hung over and sleeping late, had missed the entire show. Tarzan realized he was just a dude in a loin cloth claiming he was the Great One.
Steel won’t bite on a demon. So, Viking SOP was to ‘test’ potentially hostile strangers with their blades. Kinda like binding up a suspected witch and tossing her into a river to see if she floats. You know, just to be sure. Anyway, it’s looking like it might could be an unpleasant morning for Lord Greystoke. ;-)
Tarzan made a huge mistake by sending wooly Tantor away….he’ll soon regret that. He’s looking mighty “chesty” in panel #3. True “gods” can fly and don’t bleed either. Tarzan, unfortunately, can do neither…….

His crashing through your main gate riding a giant beast wasn’t proof enough ?

Chief: “What the…who screwed up the gate?”
The villagers all turn and look at Tarzan.

Lord Greystoke has that request well in hand; note his erect stance, his imperious demeanor and his steely, grey-eyed gaze….or something like that…

The book this is loosely based on, Tarzan the Terrible, is actually pretty good.
