Paper bags are the ultimate kitten toy. I had one cat who had a “party trick” of leaping upward into a grocery bag held inverted above his head. He leapt with such force it would knock the bag out of your hand and he would be motionless “lurking” in the fallen bag until suddenly dashing free. Eventually he had a couple of bad blind falls and gave up the habit.
The other trick with two cats is to tear out a corner. The inside cat can make surprise strikes on the outside cat. I had one cat who quickly learned he could stop these annoying attacks by sitting on the open end of the bag. Eventually the inside cat would burst out through the tiny hole.
