Barack Obama has renounced his long-standing belief in God. Breaking ties with the father, the almighty, the make of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen, is not a decision I come to lightly. Belief we no longer believe in. Obama's decision, which he made with "some sadness," followed a series of inflammatory remarks by Jesus Christ, God's spokesperson. It's easier to drive a hummer through a municipal parking garage than for its rich driver to get into heaven. Gasp. Obama's advisers were furious that Jesus ran off at the mouth without checking in with them first. Jesus' comments conflict with my long-held views, statements and principles, which rely on wealthy campaign contributors. Obama says he and his family are shopping for a new faith. I'm sure we'll find someone else to worship. Or something else.
