It’s time to say a fond farewell to my foster kittens. Their new family eagerly awaits their arrival at PetCo this morning. The mom said its all the kids have been talking about all week. These are good, well behaved kids. Nobody squeezed the babies, nobody grabbed at them. Each child held them close to his/her chest and kissed their little furry head.
Usually with my cats I sound like the mother of several small children – when I hear a noise in another room, it’s: DON’T MAKE ME GO IN THERE! or WHOEVER’S DOING THAT, STOP IT! Not that they’d take any notice. :^)
Runningstag: I sound just like you do with hollering at the “kids”.
I didn’t stay, once the family took the kittens. The other volunteered showed up so I left. I stopped at the fairgrounds to watch the ranch rodeo with Brad. It’s not like a regular rodeo; this is doctoring, branding (with chalk) trailer loading, etc. when it was over, I left but Brad stayed to watch team roping.
Got home and cleaned/scrubbed the kitten room so am ready for whatever shows up next. There is a long haired b/w girl at PetCO who is shy and scared. I told Susan I would be happy to take her for a while. She’ll have lots of room to play and run around so I might be getting her later today.
Hope y’all had a good Caturday. Seems I now have a very large black cat at my outdoor kitty café today. At least in this cold weather, he has something to eat with fresh water. >^..^<
As we think about the pets we have loved and lost; the friends we have loved and lost, I want to share my best friend’s pastor’s remarks on losing his dog. It made me think…perhaps we Ten Cats fans can meet some day.“~Reverend Larry Daniel Good-Bye to My DoggieWell 2015 has not started off good for me. My little dog Lexie had to be put down. She was deathly sick; it had to be done. Unless you have been through something like this yourself, you cannot possibly imagine how painful it is. Being with her at the very last moment brought tears to my eyes, but she knew that I was holding her in my arms till the last. Let me just come out and say it. I believe animals go to heaven. Why? Because our pets have personalities just like we do. A personality represents a soul. A personality is capable of relationship. A personality is capable of a whole range of emotions—love, happiness, sadness. Lexie had all of those emotions. She was a little rescue dog. She was about a year old when I got her. The lady who owned her said that no one else wanted her because she had an under bite and she was black. To me she was the cutest dog in the world. From that day till the end, she owned me. I have tears now, but a day will come when I know I will see her again. I have looked her in her eyes and told her that God loves her even more than I do. Oh, I know, it is silly. It is pure emotionalism. But I do have the hope of holding my little companion one day again. Our God is a good God. He would not have us form relationships only to take them away, even with our pets. Until then I have faith that He is taking care of her. In my prayer tonight I will say: “Good-bye little girl. You are in God’s hands now. One day we will be together again. I love you.”

If my in-laws weren’t coming over around noon, I’d crawl under the covers with Yum Yum. Wind chill -23C and dropping here in Barrie.

Another good one. Perfectly captures the finicky cat personality.
