Today I spent $138.00 at the vet’s getting Xanax for my poor dog! Add insult to injury I had his nails trimmed, and caught up his vaccinations. As I write there is a unsanctioned fireworks show at the middle school I live next to. He is stuffed up under my desk and chair. Buttheads!! A pox on all of them!
Please everyone, keep your fingers crossed,. the woods behind us are so dry, and I can hear the fireworks already. We’ll be out with the hose just in case.
I’ll wish our US cousins a Happy 4th of July. We don’t celebrate it here in the UK………That being said there was a cracking thunderstorm in the early hours here in Sunny Suffolk, lots of lightning and thunder (and rain). Misty ignored it all, thunder and lightning doesn’t phase her at all (which is good). When I had the Persians, they would sit in the conservatory and watch the lightning, or fireworks. It was quite amusing to watch if there was lots of fireworks or lightning. I did have two or three that didn’t like them though, they would hide behind the settee, but fortunately didn’t panic too much.
Hooray, hooray, there is joy in Barrie!!! Sean and the owner were doing his schedule for next week and he told the owner about the wedding and was given the day off. He says the owner and the other workers are really nice. He is currently busing tables, washing dishes, sweeping, etc… Next week they will also include prep work in between meals. Owner also said that if Sean wants to go back to the adult learning centre in September, his schedule will be arranged so he can go to school in the morning and work at the restaurant afternoons/evenings (they close at 8PM during the week and 9PM Friday and Saturday)
Loved all of the July 4 pics. I’m going to file away the idea of the truck shade and figure out how to make one. I’m thinking of using fabric to cover it.
Late last night I posted the adoption news from yesterday.
Is the TC warehouse in the northeast? Is that why he “drors”?
Great adoption news Queen! Re the guy who moved and left behind his cats…there needs to be a huge fine for abandoning animals! And some prison time with the lifers!
A happy 4th to all, it’s raining heavy here, I’m sure there is a lot of ruined picnics today. At least it will be nice and wet for my mortars and rockets later. It does scare the kitties a little but they get over it and quickly forget about it till next year.
I just had my 17 (and almost a half) year old girl to the vet yesterday. They had to gas her to get blood. From the bill sitting in front of me: gas: $93.22, blood send out $173.45 and pain meds, $93.48. I don’t know why I didn’t think to get a prescription for the pain meds. I used to get IV bags from Costco for $25.00. At the vet: over $100.I wish Oliver could “dror” $0.00!
One more kitty is getting adopted as I write. A girl adopted a black kitten (I think it was mine) on Sat and called Susan this morning saying she wanted the young calico as a companion. YAY. I think that makes 6 adoptions this weekend. And she’s going to petco tomorrow so maybe there will be more.
If 2 of these little hooligans get adopted, I would like to bring the pregnant kitty home. I hate them being the shelter for the birth.
One cat, Little Bit, hiding in the closet, Bella is under the couch, and the other 3, Molly, Mittens and Blackie could care less, LOL! I must admit, for a neighborhood, some of it sounds like a battle zone! We can see some just sitting in our living room and some are quite pretty, actually for home firework displays.
Do you know, my Father would have been 102 today! He died on Sept. 11, 2009, in excellent health, his mind was sharp as a tack, and his body too, for the most part, though his movements slowed down somewhat, still living in his home my mom and him had built in 1966, until he fell in his breezeway and hit his head. We wanted him to come stay with us after Mom died in 2005, ironically September 21, he said “No I am staying here, this isn’t a home anymore, but it is still my house”! We only lived 2 miles away, which was good.
My first thoughts of September 11 are my Dad, the tragedy comes second.
Sorry, don’t mean to drag you down, but I just had to post this.
A HAPPY AND SAFE 4TH OF JULY MY FRIENDS-——-Sorry that I’m posting so late. I’ve had trouble getting online today.-——-@Hooligan918: I hope your baby gets better and that your finances increase.
For whatever reason none of my guys was bothered this year by the fireworks. Had a wonderful cookout on back porch with daughter’s boyfriend as acting grill master. For those on the west coast with the extreme heat and dry conditions I pray you soon get some relief!

It’s nice and overcast and humid here. Had a few sprinkles, too.
I got a frame for the Sunday strip that I ordered a few weeks ago. I wish it was signed by Graham, but I love it anyway.
