OK, as I was saying before the site crashed, Paul and I planted some flower bulbs yesterday. We put in calla lilies, gladioli, irises and dahlias. While the site was down, we went for a long walk, and obviously the site has woken up again.

Having 5 ladies over for dinner – none have ever been to my house. Now that the site is back up I can turn off my laptop and get to work vacuuming cat and dog hair. And cooking.

I missed the whole site down thing, first I knew of it was when Queen emailed me…sometimes it pays to sleep late.I woke up around 2AM and I could hear (faintly) a whooshing sound, like laundry in the washing machine. Got up and opened the window, heard it outside, walked down the hall, heard it, went downstairs, yep. Almost woke up Dale……..went back to bed and became aware that the sound matched my heartbeat! Allergies stopped up my nose and ears, so I was hearing myself. Stayed awake for another hour, grumbling, before I fell asleep again.

Loved the picture of the customers coming in just at closing time. I can definitely relate to that.

Thanks to one and all for posting all the pics and gifs. Looks like I missed the Gocomics breakdown…found out about it just a few minutes ago from Queen’s e-mail.

My tulips began opening today.

Queen….so Nikki will have her forever home one day. That news is SO uplifting. Am hoping all the wonderful suggestions and your loving care will have her drinking more and more liquids too.

My dad is 90 and in a nursing home with dementia. He gets very frustrated with all that he’s forgetting. I try to take his mind off it when I’m there (I spend about a month over in Boston four times a year) and if he starts to ‘talk ragtime’ as my mother used to call it, I just go with it. My mother had it as well, but instead of getting frustrated, she used to be able to laugh it off.On a different subject, took Big Man to the vet today. He has issues with his eyes getting runny every so often, and he’s been walking with a slight hitch. The vet gave me joint supplements to put in his food, she didn’t find any heat in the joints and he doesn’t seem to be in pain. He’s going to have some sort of eye test when he’s back for his shots in June. He’s also got ointment for his eyes.He also had his blood pressure taken, with a little machine that has a cuff that goes over his tail, but it doesn’t squeeze it like a human bp machine. He was very good about all of it.
