Supposed to be 97 here tomorrow.Only 91 for the Art Faire. We will be sittin’ in our booth and sweatin’!I hope that our space is under a tree too. We could use the extra shade.Yes, we have a canopy, but at 91 it doesn’t do much. Where’s that Shave Ice Truck?
Good Morning everyone. Great stuff as usual. One of my house cats has an ulcer on his eye so the vets have stitched his “third eyelid” together to help it heal and put on a “cone of shame” to keep him from scratching the eye and messing up their work. It has to stay on 10 days.
It stayed on one hour. Honestly, he really hates the cone and will go to great lengths to get it off and usually succeeds. I doubt the cone will last the 10 days since it made of plastic coated paper. If this procedure does not work, he will lose that eye. I already have one other one eyed cat. What we do without our cats and the tribulations they cause. It’s also hot here in central Calif again. 100+ for a few days. I have forgotten what rain sounds like or feels like.
SO hot on east coast too…humidity is the worst part. My AC bill will be a doozy.
Last night the dog slept in AC bedroom while the cats were in and out (the door is cracked open a few inches). Now, the menagerie are all in the living room where the coolness originates. Lots of ice cubes in their water bowl too. Heat wave will continue through the weekend. UGH.
As with LadyKat, who lives nearby in Barrie, the temps here have been in the mid-30’s Celsius the past few days, with a heat index/humidex closer to 40 Celsius. I’m in Toronto, which is in a drought this summer – earlier this week, they said it’s been the driest 100 days in history here.
@kd1sq:Our cats (one in particular) like to jump on top of our flat-screen tv. We had to use an industrial bungee cord to strap it to the tv stand so it wouldn’t tip over. He still likes to jump on top and lie across it, with one paw dangling in front of the tv screen. I’m always amazed that he can balance up there and appear to be fairly comfortable.
As much as I hate the heat, I shouldn’t really complain about it – I have co-workers in India who tell me they’ve been dealing with temperatures averaging around 45 celsius every day (that’s about 113 Fahrenheit – YUCK!).

A week ago I brought home a 32" HDTV, set it up and went to bed at 9:00pm.
By 6:00 am the next day the cat flock had knocked the TV face down onto the floor and broken the screen.
The larger replacement is screwed (at four points) to the table top it sits on.
Even so, I half expect to see the cat legion of the damned trying to work together to tip the entire table over…

About the picture of the kittens at the milk bowl – when will people learn that milk (unless it’s KMR) gives the poor little things the runs?

ENOUGH with cat-shaming already. Who are these little notices supposed to impress – your cat? Ha!

It was 100 F. here today with the heat index of 105. It’s times like these when you find your seat belt buckle can double as a branding iron. >^OO^<
