Chesney, you need to know when you are beaten.

I watched the eclipse on TV from Salem, Madras and other Oregon sites. At the same time, in Seattle I could observe the slight darkness and coolness of our own 93%. The promentories on the TV were very cool (I mean hot!). Bummer for those who were rained out. Bev, I hope you do not have a revolution on your hands.

Good morning, everyone. Too overcast to see anything yesterday. It’s 4:30 AM now and the thunderstorm finally arrived. Is Chesney going to get bonked on his furry little head?

Good morning, Graham Crackers! Not much to see in our partial eclipse yesterday, got darker for about a minute, no change in temperature.

Going to be a hot one today when you factor in humidity; mid to high 90s.

I had fog. Not enough to stop us from watching it, but enough to stop us from seeing the corona.

    Still, totality was amazing.

    And it got cold!

High tide was a couple of hours after, and it was high. 9+ feet. We are expected to have a few more tides higher than “normal” over the next couple of days.

Cannot believe Chesney keeps letting the mice get the better of him!! Craig had his entire right lung removed yesterday and I spent the night in ICU with him. The surgeon seems confident that the cancer had not spread. He had a tough night but is a little better today. Biggest concern now is keeping pneumonia away. The seriousness of this disease and huge surgery has really hit him this morning, very depressed one minute but also taking of future hiking and birding trips he wants us to take. If he is stable Wednesday I will go home for the night (10 hours round trip) to reassure the dogs and cats that life will resume to normal. Don’t know what we would do without our wonderful friends in town who look after them when we are gone.
