I was able to post five of the fourteen pictures I uploaded today to Photobucket and emailed today. If you are having problems with Facebook or Photobucket, or if you want to see the pictures that Gocomics doesn’t want me to post here, email me at bobwharton12@gmail.com and I will email them to you daily.
One of the gifts I gave my granddaughter for her 11th birthday was Ten Cats – The Chesney Chronicles. She absolutely loves it and has fallen in love with all the ten cats. I asked if she was sure Chesney was one she loved – yes, she especially loves Chesney.
Love the comic today. Very important topics – except maybe Chesney’s. 142 pages – REALLY??
Eldo, I want to answer your reminder. Sorry, I do not often read all the comments, so my answer is so late.
ROSENPFAD: This word is not a normal vocabular – it is used in a poem from Friedrich Rückert (1788 – 1866) who BTW lived for the rest of his life in Coburg, where I was born. ☺
In the poem a girl called Rose gathered roses, and by doing this some rose petals, perhaps also rose-leaves and rose-twigs fell off to the ground. A sickness (in the poem the sickness is envy of the beauty of Rose and wanted to do her evil) followed the girl on this ROSENSPUR.
Quote, “…die Krankheit, die von deinem Reiz erfuhr, ging lang’ aus Neid dir nach, o holde Rose! Und als sie kam auf deine Rosenspur, bedrängte sie dich hart, die Schonungslose!“, unquote.
Here is my try of translation:…. the disease that has heard from your charm, dangled after you full of envy, o fair Rose! And when she came upon thy ROSENSPUR (= track, trail of roses, petals and leaves) she pressed you hard, the ruthless one!
OKAY! To make a long story short ☺: Baconboycamper’s translation is right!
