We finally got some rain yesterday and last night. It seems everyone around here is sick. I have bronchitis. Brad has a major cold, the waiting room at the docs’ office was packed on Monday, the mom of my nail person is sick, the lady who finishes my quits is sick (and said most of her shop is, too), 3 of Brads’ co-workers went home early on Monday. I had to postpone surgery until the 16th. On Tues night, one of my coughing fits was so violent, I pulled something near a hip. Every time I cough, it’s extremely painful. It was so bad, I had the dry heaves because everything had already come up.
I manage to read the comics in the morning but that’s about it for my day. I wonder if that’s why there were only 2 postings at 8:30 this morning. Is everyone out there sick, too?
This morning i got a text from the widow of one of my old clients. Her dog (St. Bernard) was down and having some kind of issue, and she asked if i could bring my van.
(Thank you again to everyone that helped me get it.)
By the time i got there she had called her Vet. They contacted another Vet that did house calls. He wasn’t going to be there for another hour, so i got down on the floor to pet and comfort Cadbury (as in the candy because she’s so sweet). Mom couldn’t because she is also a client with mobility issues of her own.
The vet got there and said that he couldn’t do anything. The issue was somehow neurological. And it was probably causing a lot of pain. Cadbury was panting and foaming and lost control of her bladder.
By that time there were three caregivers there.
We comforted the lady (whose name i can’t use here because she is a client) and the dog as the Vet gave Cadbury her last shots.
I then took Cadbury to the pet crematory.
Cadbury WAS sweet, just like her name. A big goofy loveing old puppy.
My friend/client is now home alone. And i feel terrible for her.

A flea bath is like an invigorating, lava rock with chili pepper massage, for these guys.
