Mama, just give him some old ones to play with. Or, buy a cheap pair for him. Its what I did with one of our cats back in the 1980s. She would NOT leave my silver chains alone. I finally bought her a cheap one and gave it to her. She dragged her "pretty’ all over the house.
I had to “banish” Colette with a hiss last night. She got into what I call “zombie-kneading” mode. She tried to “log roll” me by lying on me in bed, no matter how much I twisted and turned. Then she decided she MUST knead my pillow, where my head was resting. I put up with all this for ten minutes before hissing her out of the room. She slept quietly on a dishtowel on the kitchen counter. There were no hard feelings this morning.
Mittens seeks to copy Bastet. The Gayer-Anderson cat has hoop earrings, and a tough and fancy nose ring. Don’t do it Mitty you don’t need any piercings in your shell-like ears, and tender nosey pose.
I only banish my girls to rotate my mattress in my bedroom. It’s a queen sized mattress and is a handful to turn. So I lock them out of the room for their safety and mine. Otherwise a certain house panther would be right underfoot. They usually don’t even notice. If they do however, it’s annoyance treat time afterwards. That’s a rule in the cat constitution. If they get annoyed by human actions, they get treats. Go to the vet? TREATS. Get locked out of a room? TREATS.

Mitty, while you’re banished, you can look for liver treats in the pantry.

The last time the cats upended my jewelry box, they made off with a watch. I haven’t seen it since.

Banishing a cat to the pantry is a mistake of huge proportions. We know this!

Mitty, how about a milk jug ring instead? My cats enjoy that

One of my kitties got my play coat onto the floor and was curled up sleeping in it. I needed it and had to disturb him. He was not happy.
