Somebody yelled, “it’s happy hour at the Moulin Rouge,” and the park became empty.

I’m wondering where Mr. Melcher found the second image (or did he make it)?

After a weekend in jail, and another week of community service; everyone started taking those “Keep Off The Grass!” signs seriously.

Looks like super bowl Sunday is the best day to go to La Grande Jatte.

This is a play on an old art history joke. The upper panel is the finished work. The lower panel, with no people, is a study done in preparation for it. The upper panel is known as “Sunday afternoon on La Grande Jatte. The lower panel is known as “Monday afternoon on La Grande Jatte.”

The guys in the sailboats were either Dallas or Pittsburgh fans.

Is there a corresponding painting of Dante’s Inferno that we could label “Super Bowl Sunday in Philadelphia”?

A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (on top)

(best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) have info and links that point to info about each painting.

all have info about this artist (again, click any of his name links in the last for more by him). So far, works by him have been used here 3 times.

has the prior strip, which sadly, though my comment text is there with the line breaks removed, its 16 hyperlinks remain inactive. &?@#!#%&!

Like B here, it shows 2 more of the at least 24 studies the artist did in preparation for A, along with similar captions (some might recall).

Again, a larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #1876 (January 31, 2018) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.
