John…This is where I come to think my deepest thoughts, and there’s been something bothering me lately……Do you think they’ll ever make a sequel to “Ferris Buellers Day Off”?
(best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this roughly B4 paper size painting. File history has strip coloration image.
has the prior strip (my comment there included the same artist info URLs).
Again, a larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #2033 (September 5, 2018) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.
Back in 2015, this was auctioned by Christie’s for 4,375 pounds (see https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/edmund-blair-leighton-1852-1922-the-trysting-place-5956279-details.aspx). Other than that, it seems to be virtually unknown. There’s plenty about the artist; you can easily drown in online copies of his famous work “Accolade” that depicts the knighting of of a young man by a beautiful queen.
