Gunther was shocked to see his mother hypnotized by that little bird.

Little Travis had an amazing talent for creating ventriloquist dummies. But this one was too big for his lap. The bird was a good touch though.

Mother and Son Feeding A Chick

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mor_och_son_med_en_f%C3%A5gel,_m%C3%A5lad_av_Anne-Genevi%C3%A8ve_Greuze.jpg

(best viewed by Google Chrome, with Google Translate added to chrome://extensions, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to more info about this roughly jumbo envelope size painting. Other versions has strip image origin.

    http://www.pastellists.com/Articles/GreuzeAG.pdf

has sparse info about this artist, perhaps in addition to what’s pointed to by the title URL. Perhaps those who read French can find more about her. First work by her used here, though 4 (5 times, with a repeat) by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, her father and teacher, have appeared here previously.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (⌘- or Ctrl-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #2410 (March 22, 2020) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.

Henri wanted to suggest that perhaps the bird wasn’t all that fond of gruel. Especially since he knew he wasn’t.

In order to sex a chick – determining whether it’s male or female is important to the farmer – one has to pick it up, turn it over, and gently turn it sorta inside out. The quicker a chicken sexer can do this for large batches of chicks, the better.
