Other than what’s perhaps indirectly pointed to by the title URL, I couldn’t find any online info about this artist (though Wikimedia Commons currently shows over 30 different works by him, he currently has no Wikipedia page in any language). As best I can tell, he was active 1866-1892 (which some list as his lifespan, making him 3 when this was painted). Most say he was born before 1866, but don’t say when, and died before 1922 (I did see 1910; but, that also said he was born in 1866; so, I can’t really trust its accuracy). First work by him used here.
