It was based on the story of an orphan who was befriended by a group of soldiers during WW2. He traveled across Europe with them; then was adopted by one of the soldiers and brought to America. If you see some of the early strips, he is wearing a soldier’s cap and coat.

It was a comic strip. The 2nd of it’s two creators passed away this month.
