You know, I’m in my 60s now and never realized until this moment why I didn’t like that story as a kid. My brother and I were “latch-key” kids…home from school hours before Mom. This book fed my fears of a stranger coming to the door.
Remember: Fun with Dick and Jane? – if so, you should look up: More fun with Dick and Jane. (printed in 1985) – similar artwork – it’s a hoot!
That got creepy real fast…
