My mother writes handwritten letters in very nice cursive. Even though I was taught cursive in third grade and could still write it if I needed to, I have trouble reading her cursive.
I think that’s the real reason cursive has lost popularity in schools. Getting kids to print legibly is easier than trying to read the wide variety of ways people form cursive letters. Many students also only use cursive when forced to do so. My daughters and I were all taught cursive in school, but none of us ever use it. A few of my classmates stuck with cursive after it was no longer required, but most went back to print. Personally, I would rather have the schools spend time on better print penmanship than trying to get people to use cursive.
Flagpole sitting? Are we talking Mulan’s clever triumph, or those monks who thought sitting atop a pillar would make them holy? (Spoiler: it didn’t work. Nothing man can do can make himself holy.)

I think all the cursing will come after the last panel.

I remember in third grade, when my class was taught cursive. I don’t think anyone still remembers how to write it anymore. 9/10.

Cursive is kind of hard. The only cursive letters I know are my initials.
