Brutus: Side retired again! Ai-yi-yi, this game is dragging on into extra innings...scoreless!
Brutus: Why am I so captivated?
Brutus: Sigh...it's the story of my life!
What we remember is not necessarily related to the outcome. I remember a game in Atlanta 1966 or 1967, when Felipe Alou lined a clean single to Roberto Clemente then, after a decoy move, took second against the purported best arm in baseball. Do not remember how the game turned out, just a striking memory from almost 50 years ago.
Nevertheless RadarRecon is right – other than stats in the books there will be few around to remind others about a game in 100 years. People have already forgotten the Great War.

And except for stats in books, the game probably won’t even be remembered in a hundred years.
