Brutus: The batter swings...
Brutus: It's a long drive...way back...gone!
Gladys: He's gets this way every year around this time - the poor dear misses baseball!
This is so my husband. I’m not a sports person but every day I get the countdown to how many days until baseball starts. I DON’T CARE! – but I humor him and sound sympathetic.
So do I, Brutus, so do I. Football season ended two weekends ago. The greedy NFL is just playing out the string. And what’s with these Thursday games? Trying to thin the herds by getting players injured when they don’t have time to recover from the pounding they took on Sunday? Games themselves are bad enough; we’re so stupid to watch them that a major broadcast network is running a second season of Thursday games next season. I soured on the NFL more than 30 years ago.
