Weather forecasters used to be inaccurate because they used too little science in their analysis. Now, forecasters are just as inaccurate and it seems that it’s because they now use too much science in their forecasts.
One of the local weather wags has been saying for years: Today’s forecast you can take to the bank. Tomorrow’s forecast has about an 80% chance of being right; the next day’s, about 50%. Anything after that is show business.
