Besides the fact that front lawns are a total waste of time (grass and weeds will just grow again as soon as you cut them), they are also a waste of water and the runoff from the lawn (full of fertilizer) poisons groundwater that some of us use for wells. I think all suburban communities should let homeowners plant veggie gardens instead of sod, or plant a bunch of pine trees, or fill up the yard with a screened in porch…

Pine trees are very flammable. Florida found that out when fire broke out and burned down the houses where they were planted around.
