She’s a “little behind”, alright!
To be fair, having “War & Peace” at the top of the list was a bit unfair.
She’s underestimating her behind.
I was in four different elementary schools in the 1950s and never had a summer reading list.
School system I was in tried it 1 or 2 years but scrapped that plan. Library didn’t have enough books for all the students to borrow.
Couldn’t understand this when I was a kid. I had all mine done by the 2nd week then I didn’t have to worry about it.
