Hard to picture the Chief waiting for the Bus, his Limo should be pulling up any time now.

Prithee, what do a shamanistic spirit animal and the jolly elf have to do with the birth of G-d’s only begotten Son … destined from the beginning of time to be the Redeemer of mankind?

Messrs. Sansom nailed this one with the spirit animals selections, though I pondered if Brutus’s totem mightn’t be an elf; ever serving, rarely complaining and under appreciated because he’s the glue that keeps everything together and functioning. But, since elves aren’t animals, I don’t guess that would work.

Not so, Chief. You’d be the head elf in charge of production at the North Pole facility. You wouldn’t be the Grinch, as you value money, and there’s a lot of money to be made at Xmas time.

I would think that Scrooge, before his epiphany, would be closer to the mark with old Chiefy, although Scrooge isn’t an animal… exactly…

@I’m here for the cookies- Yeah, snow is ALWAYS nice and pretty to look at until you have to get out and shovel it! My landlords mostly do all that but I’m glad I keep myself in good shape because I still like to get out and do a little shoveling. But a lot of older adults don’t realize that shoveling snow is great exercise! But unfortunately many of them get back problems because they don’t exercise. One time I had to let a girlfriend go because she wanted me to constantly be up under her! And she thought I was going to the gym just to meet women!

My Christmas spirit animal is also the Grinch. I am not a fan of the commercialism and gift-giving, never have been even as a kid. To me, if someone means something to you and you see something that you think they would love, give the gift then. A gift “just because I’m thinking of you” is so much more meaningful to me.

Veeblefester needs to be visited by Scrooge’s three Christmas ghost, but the again, it probably wouldn’t be fair to the ghosts.

For those of you who enjoy snow (and ice and particularly black ice), feel free to clean my driveway and street off so I can walk my dog this winter more safely than usual. I am currently in disagreement with condo management regarding my request for handrails on both sides of the porch and the steps down. I would have to pay for whatever goes up, and I offered at least 5 different doctor letters saying I need the dual handrails since one side is always full of random ice and the other side is dangerous as I get to the steps. After that, it’s literally all free-fall.

    I don’t mind Christmas. I mind winter.
