Please someone explain to me what’s a “day-night double-header” is. I checked on “Urban Dictionary” and I only found porn meanings, and I don’t think Brutus is “that kind of man”
I can understand Gladys frustration if she has to stand up leaning on the back of the chair all that time! A double-header means that not only will there be 9 innings – but there will be EIGHTEEN innings! Gladys should REALLY BUY ANOTHER easy chair so she can sit down watching television!
I have enjoyed playing baseball, but watching it on TV ranks very high on the most boring things ever. I have attended in person and found them to be more interesting
Hilarious response Gladys – can peel the sarcasm off the back of Brutus’s bald head! I have a suspicion that Gladys will be sneaking out of the house on a shopping spree today. Gonna be an expensive day for a guy just sitting watching the ballgames!
Team plays two games in one day. day game afternoon and then a night game. Double-header. (normally as a result of a make up game – rain out previous game)
If you are a serious baseball fan and it’s your home team, that could be great tv for the day. However, l picture Mrs Brutus as a All Day QVC shopper…..
Now all Brutus has to do is tell Gladys to make sure she fixes dinner between games so he doesn’t miss any action. That should be good for a week of silent treatment.

Gladys needs to give him a “honey do” list.

That would be great if I lived in Boston, but I live in Houston. I hate the Astros!

Gladys might be interested in a day-night double header book read.

Just for that, Brutus, both games will be rained out.

I agree with you Gladys, I’d rather watch something exciting like paint drying.

This is why it’s good to have separate TV.

“Has Gladys no appreciation of the fine art of baseball games” wonders Brutus…

Brutus’s expression in the third panel suggests Gladys’s opinion of what is great TV differs from his own. I am with Brutus on this one.
