I’ve never understood people who keep their two $50,000 cars on the driveway, to store worthless junk in their garage.

Well, Gladys made him throw out all his treasures (comic books, etc.) years ago. Might as well park his car in there.

I have my TV mounted on the wall so that you can see it by looking straight ahead. Dude came to my house and said (how quaint"?) I asked why and he said they should be mounted so you look up at them if you’re in a recliner. I told he he was nuts!

Some people have junk drawers that have expanded to junk garages.

our garage is a dumpy zone with narrow pathways barley enough room to get by without knocking stuff over… guess I’ll need to lose more weight sooner rather then later. ;)

The garage is just another storage area for the wife.

I swore when I moved into this house a year ago that I would never again have a “no-car” garage. I have both cars in there plus shelves to store my “stuff”

Moving through my 2 car garage is like an obstacle course, but outside parking in Canada means scraping windows most winter days. With an unfinished interior you can hang things in the rafters and store paddles, fireplace logs, etc. between the 2X4s in the walls.

@Ahuehuete- You would think that with two $50,000 cars, they would have a U-Haul or another storage facility.

When I built my house, I put in 3 garage bays so that I could park two vehicles in there.

Whenever I have an oil stain in my garage, I just throw a mat on it!

If you leave your car outside where I live the squirrels will eat the wires out of it

My garage is for my cars only. I have storage space in the house and a garden shed for outdoor things. Works good in winter. I never have to clean snow off my car, and I have the driveway cleaned by a snow-blowing company. Lazy? No. I am retired.

You’ll need some elbow grease for that oil stain Brutus .

I use my carport for my Leaf especially since the charging cable is nearby. Though I have kin who sport the double garage with junk and cars outside. I also use a large tarp attached to the open side of the carport to cover my Canyon.

Sunlight degrades paint. Didn’t realize how much ’til I began using my garage as a garage. Out two vehicles still look great.

I always thought that was the purpose of the garage, to store the car.

Who has 6 car/truck and 2 boat garages? Would need over 1000 Sq feet stable for my parking.

In Ohio it’s either keep it in the car in the winter or get up an hour early to clear all the snow off.

We have a neighbor who is a hoarder. His garage is filled top to bottom with all kinds of stuff. He has a gorgeous Porsche 911 under a cover with junk on top of it.

He goes on, “I’m green, I don’t have a car, I bus to work”…

My neighbor spent a year converting a useful two-car garage into a “guest house”, then tried to rent it out for short-term vacation rental. Never thought to check whether that was legal. It’s much quieter around here now that the County sent someone out to explain it to him.

Brutus may think keeping the car out of sight in the garage will tend to make unwanted visitors like Mother Gargle and Hurricane Hattie think they are not home.

I don’t think an oil stain on a garage floor would bother me as much as how it got there. Get the car fixed!

I’ve passed two car garages with the doors open that you couldn’t fit a toothpick in.

Yeah, my garage is full of junk. The old houses have a narrow garage compared to the size of an suv these days anyway.

Nothing says Americans have too much junk like having to park their cars in the driveway.

our hapless landlord spent an obscene amount of money on replacing his ramshackle garage with a shiny new one that leaks. the contractor tried and tried, but just couldn’t figure out how to fix it. unlike most folks who use their garage for storage, the landlord has a good reason for doing so – he runs a car repair business and stores customers’ tires in his garage. as pointed out many times above, most folks use their garage(s) to store the junk that they can’t store in their house. i miss our garage from our previous location. it was spacious enough to park two vehicles, with room to spare for firewood in racks and tools hung on the wall. our neighbors probably wondered where we stored our junk…

every spring we start parking outside to avoid adding extra heat to the attached garage. We try not to put anything in the garage all summer and yet in fall we need a day to clean it out so we can park inside again when the cool weather hits.

If your driveway is concrete, spread some Portland Cement on those oil stains and let it set overnight, It’ll pull the oil right out.

I bought a Tesla. No more oil on the garage floor. In fact, no more maintenance and repair issues.

I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who uses my garage for its intended purpose when it was built back at the end of WWII. You can tell how long ago it was built. My not very large car just barely fits.
