Gotta keep yourself distracted from situations like that.

I’d add the refrigerator for some cold snack: ice cream, for example.

Yeah after dealing with years of outages we decided to have a 50 amp service installed in our home with a 13 k generator it powers the entire house furnace ac fridges and all the light since I bought a portable total cost was around 2 grand .

Best investment I’ve ever made for our house.

Wow, Brutus, I was impressed with your thoughtful, intelligent conversation. Until your last panel…..I love the way Uncle Ted is looking out sideways at us.

The refrigerator, if it has an ice machine. A power outage caused mine to seize up.

I always worry about getting stuck in my power recliner. That’s why I keep spare snacks where I can reach them.

We are fortunate to live in a town with its own power company. In the 20 years we have lived here we have rarely had outages and the ones we have had have been less than 3 hours and usually no more than 1/2 hour. Only once did we have a longer one which was for 12 hours, and that was because 2 of the 3 feeder line were down (Those big power companies don’t invest in tree trimming). The crews busted their butts rewiring to get the entire town back up on the one remaining feeder line. Many of the surrounding towns had outages for 2 – 3 days.

Last major storm only made the power blink. Just had my generators yearly service done. It had to be delayed a month because my many who lost power now wanted generators.
