In my day they showed us how to put loose change in paper coin wrappers. Today’s kids just don’t have any roll models!_____________
OMG…!!! I just realized for the first time that when I was a young lad of 12 my neighbor friend and I would go into local banks and ask for $10 in rolled nickels so we could go through them looking for buffalo nickels, the clerk would smile at our cute hobby, gladly hand them over along with empty paper rolls for us to re-roll them with. Little did she know that we weren’t interested in buffalo nickels, we re-rolled each tube 1 nickel short, just so he and I could head for the Ben Franklin Five and DIme store to buy a half pound of jelly beans… Never realized we were the most successful (and youngest) bank robbers in Texas history….!!!!
beviek and finale – Haha! ⍢ Thanks! Inspector Monkeyblues – What a cheeky little monkey you were! A criminal mastermind, and yet you (presumably?) saw the error of your ways and went on to represent the looong (albeit harry) arm of the law. For better or worse, I guess there are roll models.
I became so disillusioned with Mel Gibson. I admired, not only as a good actor in great movies, but had such a close knit family. But he really went downhill. He must swear an awful lot.

You’re right; they don’t. Many don’t want to be bothered with small (under 100K !?! ) accounts either.

I don’t think he’s hurting; after all, one of Mel’s pictures is worth more than a thousand swears.

Mel wouldn’t want to move to Canada, his swear jar would become a looney bin.

Many years ago we had a “Washer Lady” who would roll up steel washers and pass them off as quarters.
