Guess he showed him!

It was his personal revolution…. took him years to planet.

Why don’t we rename this system the “Copernicus System” in his honour. We could live on Copernicus 3, or maybe call ourselves Copernicans._____________________Unless someone else came up with the solar-centric idea before him.

I find this cartoon to be rather heliocentric.

My wife’s mommy is so big, that planets orbit around HER !!!(shhhhhh here she comes, don’t say anything )..LOL

It’s Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun. And while Sol Invictus is the real reason for that season, I’ve never come across any reference to that deity being crucified. Could you post a source for that? I’m curious.

The convention of naming planets “Star n” predates even Forbidden Planet. It was used in science fiction writing as far back as the 1930s. Even in Star Trek, the nomenclature was not applied consistently. Vulcan was never called “40 Eridani A 2” (or “Alnitak 2” or “Gamma Vega 2”), and Qo’noS, Romulus, Bajor and Remus were never called by a stellar index designation.

Gene Roddenberry once told me in person that Star Trek had “…absolutely nothing to do with science fiction.”
