    I asked my Brit friend why they used kilometers for some things such as distances between towns, yet in reading some on-line UK newspapers, some roads are referred to in miles, as in ‘a 5 mile back-up on the M5 due to a traffic incident’. She was not sure. Any help from someone who has spent time in the UK?
