Then it can be synthesized and the whole mayfly population can have the gift of extended life — or maybe it’ll just be reserved for those able to pay for it. Of course he’ll have to be held captive because his blood is so valuable, and he’ll escape, and . . . Never mind, old sci-fi plot that came to mind.
