I thought after five or six years my opportunity for a warranty would eventually lapse. Luckily not, I ‘m still getting that stupid $#!+. I wonder if it’s a scam? I know the IRS is still threatening to arrest me, even though I send gift cards to their Moscow branch office every couple of months.
One of the most annoyingly repetitive robo-calls i get. Once i listened to entire message hoping that there was an opt-out at the end. There is. Press 1 if you dont want to receive any more messages. I did. I still get the calls.
One way to tell if it’s a legitimate caller is to try to argue with them. If you can get them riled up and even swearing, they are not legitimate. On a bad day, it can be a little entertaining. Then hang up and block the number.
I also get the cold calls for construction work around my home. Take out a wall. Put in window treatments. Landscape the backyard. I tell them that I live on the 5th floor of an apartment house. Talk to the landlord.

B-but they wanted to contact you before the close the file… for eight months. They’re very generous in not closing your file for so long.

They call my son all the time and he does not have a car! Also electrical supplier choices call him and he lives in an apartment!

I get about a dozen of those calls a week.
Mostly on my cell, a few on my landline… supposedly from different cities and states…
All the same exact recording….
missing the first few syllables, in a chipper, female voice,
“Your last chance before we close the files” … leaving various callback numbers.
I don’t want to interact, including pushing “2” to be taken off the list, because I’m told that signals a live response and you’ll get MORE calls.
But it’s sooo tempting to ask what sort of warranty they’re chasing me down to offer…
on the 23-year-old second-hand Saturn I’ve been driving for 12 years. She’s so eager… I have to assume she thinks the 147,000 plus miles on the odometer won’t matter.

That’s impressive since cars won’t be invented for another 1000 or so years.

I answer those calls in an East Indian accent, and ask if they have any job openings because my previous employer was arrested for fraud.

Based on the setting, it would have been funnier if it was for his carriage’s extended warranty. “Car” makes no sense in this context.

They are the most annoying phone calls. The other is student loans. I’m not in college. I hate those calls. It’s all day and everyday.
