A block at our high school was 90 minutes. Each school day had 4 blocks and a student could earn 8 credits a year. I was a shop teacher and it was a great schedule for me as there was plenty of time to include instruction, practice, and cleanup. Our science department also had adequate time for labs.

Still are called periods in our kid’s school. Not sure if that’s what “block” is supposed to mean.

We didn’t do frogs in Biology……….we did fish! By the time I was in high school, I had already done a bunch of dissecting fish that it was no big deal!
